Stress Linked To Alzheimer’s Precursor

A study conducted in the US found evidence that higher levels of stress increase the probability that elderly people will develop amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMPC) – a mild form of cognitive decline that in 10-15% of cases develops into Alzheimer’s.

Mindfulness based stress reduction, stress-reducing drugs or cognitive-behavioral therapies may thus lessen our risk for this type of decline and ultimately for Alzheimer’s.
