Paul Bloom is the Brooks and Suzanne Ragen Professor of psychology and cognitive science at Yale University. In his research, he explores moral psychology, and how children and adults understand the physical and social world.
In this talk, as part of the Oxford Happiness festival, Prof. Bloom discusses the role of suffering in our lives. He argues that purposeful suffering is not just a means to an end: rather, it is a necessary part of a fulfilling life.
