A perspective piece recently published in Nature outlines some guidelines for accelerating the translation of machine learning-based interventions in health care.

It stresses the importance of engaging relevant stakeholders early in the process and the increasing need for developers to work as interdisciplinary teams including health-system leaders, frontline providers and patients to understand and appropriately address the nuances and potential biases lurking in health data, before deploying solutions.
